If so why are separate maps for various EU regions supplied as well as the full Europe map? What is the advantage of loading, say, the UK map in preference to the Europe map?

Apparently the Safety Tutor system is an average speed camera system. These work by calculating your average speed between two cameras a significant distance apart. Since you need to keep within the speed limit (as averaged) over the total distance it is not necessary to receive advance notice of the camera merely that you…

I have found using various route planners that you get this sort of crazy route with Eurotunnel if the destination is picked as arrivals rather than departures. Because of the one way road layout the only way a route can exist to, say, Calais arrivals is if you come from Folkstone so it routes across the channel and back…

Measure it with a tape measure. The size is the diagonal dimension

How is the SatNav expected to know if the user is through traffic or a visitor/resident? I realise that the destination will be an indication but that would require an additional "either/or" sub routine within the program for any road used in the routing that might be flagged as local traffic only. All such checking is…

An additional navigation option along the lines of 'use main roads where possible' could be useful out in the country as well. I regularly travel south from Scunthorpe joining the A1 at Newark. This route takes me through Gainsborough. However at the village prior to Gainsborough the SatNav wants me turn onto a B road and…

Thank you so much. I am currently updating Just a small point. Today 17th May is a Tuesday.
-
The last two updates were released on the 16th of the relevant month. Today is the 16th May does anyone know when the next update is likely to be released ?
-
Construction and Use Regulations indicate a maximum of 2.5m (except for refrigerated lorries at 2.58m for some reason) but I take your point. It would be helpful if TT took the permitted load widths into account

Thank you I have been used to clicking on "report" which sends a message to the moderators or then, if they agree, delete or move the thread to a more appropriate section. I presume once it as been marked as spam the mods will delete it?
-
Apologies. My mistake Surely if these widths are regularly permissible why does TomTom work to 2.6m? Is the limit in Other countries more onerous?
-
Surely with a load width of 2.90m there is a need for an escort vehicle and a police approved route? Sticking to an approved route probably means the SatNav is redundant.

Other than scrolling to the top of the page or using the browser page back button there seems to be no way of returning to the index pages. The old layout at least had a top of page button hovering in the bottom corner

Drive to the limits and within the law and you do not need to worry about the location of speed cameras or pay for an unnecessary subscription. Personally I believe the provision of such a service encourages law breaking and, like the French, should be banned

It would seem that M6 postcodes start with M6 5AA. Apparently there are no M6 4?? postcodes or for that matter M6 1??, M6 2?? or M6 3??

The battery will go flat if not plugged in to a power source. Many car 12v sockets are only live when the ignition is turned on so if you leave the device plugged in and on when the ignition is off it will inevitably go flat in about 1 hour

You need to be connected to MyDriveConnect on your PC. If this is not showing the map update then you may need to wait for @VikramK to pick it up and check your account.
-
Some indication of where in the world you are having this problem might help

Just downloaded updates for 4 maps including Europe. Speed is restricted by the laptop and its location relative to the router but it still took less than an hour.

Result! 25th August and the new map release 10.75 is ignoring the link roads. As far as I recall this means that the error only existed for one map release for which TT deserve praise. Now we just need the local council to get the link roads built and there will be some point to the new roundabout.

Thanks

Version 10.70 was released on 18th May 2021 Is there a date for the next quarterly release, due imminently, given today is 19th August?

I am currently logged in to My Drive Connect without problem. Do you have a decent internet connection?

Let Google translate be your friend and please post in English on this English language version of the TomTom forum

I too like the addition of this facility. However as soon as I used it to remove the Charging Stations POI (I too do not currently have an EV) I am told there is an update available which is the EV Charging Stations POI. Foolishly I updated, thinking it was part of the removal process, and found that the Charging Stations…
