It’s not only the hardware. Under the hoods of macOS there are significant changes when comparing with Intel Macs. We see them for example in issues of Time Machine & SMB… Not sure who must be blamed for the USB connectivity issue (new technologies are always problematic at the beginning) but the usual suspect is TomTom.…

Correct. They’ll fix that eventually and I hope other Big Sur issues… (MyDrive Connect is also unusable on my Intel Mac. I had to use the Windows version in a virtual machine which is not an option yet on Apple Silicon Macs). In general they are very slow in development to follow Apple’s rhythm…

I guess MyDrive Connect isn’t yet native for M1 Macs and is running through Rosetta (CPU emulation) and that may brake some things like drivers… You may check it very easy: https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/tell-apps-optimized-for-m1-apple-silicon-macs/

What are you expecting from MyDrive Connect & 550? With that model you can only use it for cases where there’s no WiFi available and your only option to connect the device to the Internet is through the computer and the USB cable.…

You may add some intermediate waypoints at key points to force the route as you wish.

I believe https://www.myrouteapp.com/ will be really useful for your case because it supports all of the available maps and it has a tool to do the necessary comparisons between different maps...
-
You mean a POI. No, it will notify you only when reaching the waypoints of a route. Note that tracks have no waypoints so if you use a track you’ll no notifications at all. It has only a start and a destination.

USB port isn’t waterproof when used. I also afraid that with frequent usage the rubber seal will fail... The best is to wire it on a switched power accessory line or use a relay to avoid battery depletion.

I think RoadRider covered it completely. Personally the main advantage is ease of use and that I can pre-plan the routes on the computer using tools like MyRoute-App and then transfer them to the Rider. Have in mind that no solution is perfect. Maps have errors (so careful pre-planning is always a good idea at least when…

You can’t. It’s not supported.

This is a problem since the 400 era... I’ve mentioned it many years ago but...

No it isn’t. You’ve to use the RAM support...

Selecting “Fastest route” & avoid unpaved roads may help a bit. During your ride you may also select to avoid part of the route (personally I never did it...) or find an alternative. If you don’t like surprises, the best is to prepare / design carefully your route before traveling using tools like Tyre or MyRoute-app. Many…

Bluetooth is problematic since Rider 400 era (count the years...). I fed up too with my 400, so I just use it for traffic & voice instructions. The iPhone 6 is connected directly to the headset.

I had to run Tyre too much time, I was in the v7.0: https://www.janboersma.nl/gett/history.php

Definitely Tyre is abandonware... For the history, it always used Google Maps. Some years ago Google started to ask for usage fees. That was the end of many software like Tyre... Tyre started to use OpenStreet Maps but it’s not the same... Anyway they continue with MyRoute-app which has many advantages especially in the…

You have to adjust it from the headset while there’s a sound / voice instructions from TT...

If you mean off-road, no it’s not supported.

Without measurements you can't really tell what's going on. Voltage (potential difference) alone is half of the story. You must also measure current (rate of flow) as well. In charging circuits there are diodes that protects the battery from discharging. Anyway, connect the charging dock directly to the battery and see…

Always verify your POIs. Nobody else will do it for you... Not TT, Google, Apple, etc...

"Your device is up-to-date!". I changed device's language back to "Ελληνικά" (Greek) and the problem appeared again. I guess there is a dependency with device's language and TT's online services. Something is broken at the server side. Please check it.
