Update/reset my XXL with old map

I tried to update my old XXL (We bought it about 11 years ago) but it didn't update and somehow it has made my XXL unusable. When I try to update through TOMTOM Home it tries to update with the newer map which is not compatible. Is it possible to update the XXL with the older map? The last time I used this was likely 7 years ago.

    The map has been reactivated for your TomTom. Please check for updates in TomTom HOME.
