Error Message: Item was not valid after Installation

I have a Mazda NB1 and tried to update the SD card through the TomTom Home program. It seems that all the updates have been done except the map. I get the message " Item was not valid after installation: USA_Canada" when it gets to the Install To Card Reader part of the update. Now there's no working map at all. I just paid $84 for the 1 year map update service for USA & Canada map. Is this a problem with the update? If this can't be resolved, how can I get the old map back and a refund on this non-functioning update.

I had a quick look at your account, I see you renewed the map updates service for your TomTom.
Did you manage to get the latest map installed?

Hi vikram,
Not on my sd card. I can see it under the tab of items installed in my computer but when I click “add” to put it in my device (sd card) I get the error message.

Could you try a clean reinstallation of TomTom HOME application?
Steps-
1. Disconnect the device and reinstall TomTom HOME

2. Download a fresh version of TomTom HOME

3. Connect the device and download a fresh map offered as an update-

Thank you. I uninstalled it, reinstalled and now I can’t even download the map at all, never mind get it on my device.
Error Message:
We’re sorry but TomTom HOME can’t complete that task. A problem occurred while managing your files.
TomTom HOME could not create folder “null\complete\map\USA_Canada\” due to the following problem: this file cannot be accessed. Please contact TomTom Customer Support.
Can I speak to customer support to walk me though this? Is there a number?0 -

Thank you everyone. I finally got it to work. Had to use another computer, a new sd card, and a lot of searching through this forum for instructions on how to start from scratch. Ultimately, it’s working! Unless something catastrophic happens, I probably won’t be doing an update ever again.0
