Has anyone in the UK ordered a new TOMTOM device then been hit with UPS charge?

Hi learned forum, I recently upgraded to a new TOMTOM unit, which UPS left on the doorstep but anyway. Today I receive a letter from UPS demanding payment within 7 days of the letter, already at day 8! So what appeared a good deal now is not and at NO time was there any indication on ordering of possible further charges. Trying to get in touch with TOMTOM itself is proving impossible. Any ideas please?
