At the time of purchase, did you select the Carminat account correctly?

For Live services if you are staying for more than 18 months without a subscription, your Sim card is deactivated and it is no longer possible to reactivate it.

    Hello!

I am currently using a 1045 map. I want to buy the new 1080 map.
But I want to ask for advice before buying. Before I asked my question, I read on the forum. I found some useful information. For example: if I want to use a new 16gb sd card, first format it, take the card to the car. That's what I did.
My question is, if I buy and download the new 1080 map on the new 16gb sd card, will it only cost the Europe folder or everything else? Because now there is only one "loopdir" folder on the 16GB card. There are many more folders on the 1045 card.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Hi
There is only the card bought

    The best is to
1 / put the 16 GB blank card in the PC card reader.
2 / find the GPS backup file in the computer
3 / select the internal memory tab then copy and paste on the new SD card.
4 / introduced the Sd in the Carminat, it is recognized as the original Renault card.
on Tomtom home buy the new map and download it on the SD.

Some 16 GB SD cards do not always work on Carminat.

    Dear Willy875!

    Thanks for the quick response.

I bought the car I used, the 1045 card was bought from ebay by the previous owner. I don't think it's original.

I have a backup of the 1045. Should I copy it to the 16GB card?

Cards bought on Ebay sometimes cause problems you can try copying your backup to the 16gb and see if it still works on Carminat.

    If it doesn't work

1 / Insert the blank 16 GB SD into the computer (format in FAT 32 if it is not new)
2 / The place in the GPS.
3 / Turn on the carminate which will copy 2 files necessary for its recognition.
4 / Eject the card with the button provided and remove the card.
5 / On the computer insert the card and start Tomtom Home
6 / Log in to your Tomtom Home account (email address + password) that will be associated with this card.
7 / Then via Tomtom Home or via the site you bought a recent map of the Europe map

    Hello!

I did the restore on the 16GB card. Unfortunately not good, it says "You can't use this map on this device".

I formatted the 16gb card and went back to the car.
Then it became a "loopdir" folder with a "loopback.ex3" file in it.

I started TomTom Home. Then several folders appeared on the card: "ephem"; "statdata" and a "tthome.bif" file.

It is possible to buy a map in the program. If I buy and download, will it work?

If it doesn't work, would you say "You can't use this map on this device," can I request a refund?

Sorry for the many questions, but I’m new to this and I don’t want to make mistakes.

    thanks

To test your Sd card Insert the 16 GB Sd card in the Carminat you should have a card not found message.

No problem to buy the card

On the computer insert the card and start Tomtom Home
you buy the card with Tomtom Home using the Carminat account you created.
