Tomtom Start 52 keeps rebooting, will not go to menu

in Devices using MyDrive Connect
I have just purchased a new satnav, I connected it to my laptop , I just get the TomTom logo, a roll of drums then black screen, then it repeats the same thing. Ive tried to access from MyDrive Connect application but it shows as not connected. Any ideas?

    I fixed this by disconnecting the connection to my laptop, then when you reconnect, hold down the power button on the satnav for a few seconds, it seems to properly reboot itself, and loads up fine now.
