my TomTom tells me the map is 617 month old

I have updated my Europe map regularly but lately it tells me the map is 617 month old...?
anyone out there does have answers???

    Welcome to the community! The device logs show that it has the latest version 10.70 installed.
    Do you by any chance have more than one map installed? You can check it on the device by using the switch maps option.

    It looks to me like there is a problem with some files that have an unknown date.
    They are then set to 01.01.1970. (unix timestamp)

    There are two maps installed on your device-

    1. Scandinavia (Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden) - v975.7682
    2. Central Europe- v10.70 (latest)

    The error you see for an outdated map is for - Scandinavia. See the link I mentioned above to switch maps.

    yes i have two maps. And i think this is not the problem.
    Scandinavia is from 07/2016 and Europe 04/2021. So once 61 months and the other 4 months.

    The message states that the map are 620 months old. That are 51 years and 8 months. Coincidentally, exactly January 1970. The unix time begins on 01/01/1970. Here a variable is sure to be incorrectly evaluated or overwritten.
    Can you pass this on to the developers?

    I have asked my team to remove the Scandinavia map from your device.
    Connect the device to MyDrive Connect and check for updates. The map will get removed automatically.

    Once done, do a factory reset and download the map again.

    See if you still get the same outdated message again.

    I removed the card and reset it. That seems to be going. I don't need the scandinavia map for now and don't install it.
    Are there any other discounts for a new device?

    There is a benefit in having a second map on the unit. When you are updating your device maps it deletes the existing map first to create the space for the new one. If after deleting there is an issue with the new map then you can finish up losing the Map and without a Map on the device it will not boot up normally. So always working on updating one at a time when you have finished updating and there has been an issue the second map means the unit will boot up and you can then reload the missing map.

    Regarding discounts then you need to speak to Customer Support to see if there is anything they can offer.

    There are no phone lines working because so many are working from home because of Covid.

    Try the following:-

    Tap Support at the top of this page
    You then HAVE to Sign in Top Right of next Page. (you have to do this)
    When signed in Tap Contact Us bottom right
    Help Box appears and after a few seconds Get in Touch also appears
    Tap Get in Touch
    You are now offered Chat.. If Chat is closed, ie its not normal working hours Mon/Fri, it will tell you the hours that it will be available.

    Chat is busy you may have to try a few times.

    If it does not work exactly as described then try another Web Browser.
