Problem with map, You cannot use this map on this device

in Map purchase & installation
after update of my TomTom XL my device says "You cannot use this map on this device...".
is there any way to reinstall maps so i can work with what i had before ?
tried to delete and and install maps back from my computer but still same msg.
i guess old maps are not compatible with update it installed or something like that

    @VikramK or @lampard the Forum Moderators should pick this up and If the old Map is still available on the servers, allocate it to your Tomtom Account.....

    Map activated for your TomTom. Remove the existing map first and then download a fresh version offered in TomTom HOME.

    could you activated me some newer version ? i had before 990.8316 that was like from 2017...now it is 900.4602 from 2013 maybe...so its much worse.

    you actvated me same version i had before...any chance you could activate me some newer version so i can try that?
    also it is showing me this error when i connect it to pc ..how can i get rid of it? ID : 1105779642

    The XL model you have is no longer supported. Unfortunately, we won't be able to activate newer maps :(.

    As an existing customer, you are eligible to get a discount on the latest range of products. The new devices come with free map updates for the lifetime of the device.

    @VikramK so nothing newer can be activated? what i have is newest i can get? i dont need this year maps, but if it is possible to have 1-2 years old, it would be great.
