Hi, thinking of getting a Go Classic. I have an old smartphone with capped data usage. What TomTom functions will I lose when a) phone battery dies; b) data is used up?

    Hi @SomewhatDazed

The maps you preload and the device does not use data for map s during use. You connect the phone to enable connection to the TY servers for Traffic data. Tomtom have indicated that if you use a Tomtom for 1 hour per day for a month the total data for Traffic for the month would be circa 7mb. Should your usage always be during busy periods it will be more but not significantly more.

Someone recently indicated on here they used less than 3mb during a 1000klm trip.

thanks, DougLap - that's good news. So, to confirm, if phone battery dies or data is used up, the TomTom will carry on working and get me where I want to go, but without traffic updates?
