Preferred route type and rerouting

The manual says for rerouting: Automatic. Your TomTom GO Navigation app will always change to the fastest route, without asking your permission.. This does make sense when the preferred route type is Fastest.
But what if an other route type is chosen? For instance Shortest. I do want rerouting in case my route is blocked by traffic jam or an accident. But I do want to stay on the (next) shortest route (avoiding any route blockation) and not a switch to the fastest route.
Is this possible? Is this the behaviour for automatic rerouting with a route type Shortest? And does it work this way for all the other preferred rout types? The manual is in my opinion not clear about this.

Hi @albertvanderkamp , I recorded video for you where I show that route type "Shorter" is preserved whenever the re-routing occurs. I didn't show that in video, but it behaves the same if I set rerouting to manual or automatic.

According to my knowledge, if you select route type for instance Shortest in Routing settings available in app settings, it will keep this route type whenever rerouting occurs.
I already notified our team about outdated user manual.0 -

Hi @szachowa
Thanks for your answer. I will keep my rerouting to automatic and expect that the route type is respected when rerouting takes place.2
