Why are there so many TomTom Android Apps?

When I got my TomTom Go 51 many years ago, I also installed TomTom MyDrive on my Samsung Galaxy. Now I see that there are a half-dozen or so TomTom apps for Android. Why so many? Do they serve different purposes? Is MyDrive obsolete? should I replace it with one of the newer apps?

@Lochfrass, Thanks for the detailed response! In addition I found Go Mobile, and there seems to be a Speed Radar app, but only for iPhone. IAC, it sounds as though I am best off sticking with MyDrive.
P.S. I see that "Go Mobile" now maps to "Go Navigation". Go figure!
