I just got a new SD card and uploaded TomTom maps and for a few days everything worked fine. Then when i needed it of course it decided to restart by itself. I did a soft restart and it was okay until i started using it to go somewhere. Then it restarted and kept restarting 3 times and then nothing. So i stopped the car did another soft restart. Again it worked for a while and then did the restart. So on and on i go.
What can i do to stop this restarting?

Just did the backup and reformatted the SD card put maps and stuff back on. Went to car it read sd card and for about 30 seconds it was fine. Then froze up and restarted. So i waited and it restarted and did it again froze and went to reboot again

    Hi @PackTack1
When restoring the device did you try downloading fresh content offered as updates in TomTom HOME or did you restore it from an existing backup stored on the computer?

If not tried then my advice would be to follow the steps as below-

    1. Format the memory card on a computer
    2. Reinitialise your memory card
    3. Do a clean un-install of TomTom HOME software application. See the steps here-

    4. Download the latest version of TomTom HOME from here-

    5. Download the offered updates in TomTom HOME:

I did a clean install, downloaded new map and stored a backup on my computer. So i did not reuse any of the files from my previous download.

    Cheers

    Thanks for confirming Ken!
I am afraid the troubleshooting advice for built-in devices is very limited and those were the steps we could suggest.
I hope you are using a memory card that does not exceed 8GB of memory size.

If the card is already compatible then I would recommend that you check with the car dealer and see what they suggest.
