my device doesn't give vocal instructions Tomtom start 62

I've recently got my Tomtom start62. I previously used a Garmin GPS that "spoke" to me, told me when en were I had to turn right or left, etc.
With the start62 I have only visual indications, althoug the manuel tells about vocal instructions. Is thre something wrong with my device or haven't I understooden how to make it work properly ?
Please give me clear indications.

Welcome to the site....
You need the TTS Computer Voice here in the UK it's Serena or Malcolm for spoken Street names....
Check... Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Setting --> Voice....
Choose a Voice > Serena

Are any 'Sound Icons' slashed through ??? It’s really easy to turn off a Sound Icon when swiping through the Menus

I had the voice icon in the right bottom crossed out. Il didn't realize that I had to click on it !!!
