How to get into the main menu. — TomTom Community

How to get into the main menu.

Whilst doing an update on my GO620, the device appears to have removed all maps.
New maps can not be installed as there appears to be no wi-fi connection, I assume the password needs changing on the device.
Because there are now no maps, the first thing the device wants me to do is add a map which I can't do without an internet connection. Without a map I don't see how I can get into the main menu to add/change wi-fi details. How can the device be connected to the internet to add a map or how can I perform a hard reset? My old device had a small button to push with a paper clip, this device does not seem to have one.

TIA

    Hi
    @Buzzardo
For general improvement using the Tomtom Speed Cam Database over the default settings

    Always use a Computer voice...
Serena or Malcolm here in the UK
    Also....
From the main screen... Tap (.... Menu) -> Setting -> Sounds & Warnings...
Set... 'Warning Type' to... Read Allowed... (Important... Needs a Computer Voice set in the Voices menu)
Speed Cameras & Hazards... Set to ON
The next 10 Setting ALL set to Always
The next 4 Settings ALL set to ON
Along with the standard triple 'dong dong dong' warning the device will now say....
    'Fixed Camera'
    'Mobile Hot Spot'
    'Red-light Camera'
    'Accident Black-spots
    ‘Spoken Traffic delays’

    Speed Cams
If you keep a check on the Traffic-bar... The device gives you a visual Warning of the next Fixed or Mobile Speed Camera many miles before you reach the camera
Even more info if in the 'Setting menus' you set up a Wide Traffic/Route Bar

    Problem Solved.
Installed TomTom MyDrive and added a map via USB connection.
FYI my Wi-Fi setting was correct so there must have been an interruption during the update which corrupted the map.
Handy to know for next time it all goes wrong or just update via USB connection.

    Hi @Buzzardo

One tip for you is to always have a minimum of 2 maps loaded on the GO620 and when doing any updates ensure you do them one at a time. Hopefully by following this advice and checking at the end of each map update that the new map is loaded the problem of No Map found will be avoided. As part of the process of updating the first act is the old map is deleted to make space for the new version. If you lose a map because of a problem during an update the existence of a second map ensures you can start and run the unit normally and so reload the lost map before proceeding to the next update.

    Doug.

Thanks for the answers given, very much appreciated.
That's a very good tip Doug - I'll do it.

The problem I have now though is that the Speed / Red Light Camera alerts have also disappeared, they obviously don't load with the map.
