TomTom GO Premium not giving voice instructions

Selected speaking voice is Kathy - she gave directions for the first trip after I received the device in October and since then has never spoken again. As far as I can tell the correct buttons to make sure she does speak are all checked. But silence every trip. Support tells me to do factory reset but then I will lose al the routes I have put in [as far as I know]. Also can anyone tell me the difference between My Drive and Tom Tom home - they both seem to do the same thing. Thanks

To get the full benefit from your GO Premium you would be better using the voices Serena or Malcom
Check you have the settings correct
For the newer devices like yours you do not need MyDrive Connect or the even olde TomTom Home, as all updates are managed on the device itself
Once you have selected a new voice perform a soft reset by holding the on/off button down time till a drumroll is heard (up to 30 seconds), then release.

Thanks very much - will try it out tomorrow when I am on the road. And thanks re info about Mydrive/TomTom - when i press the button for updates it tells me to connect to my computer - like you I thought it would do it wirelessly - I'll give it another go when new update comes along - maybe it was out of range of my router0
