All this is scandalous, and Rider 550 continues to be advertised as compatible with ios
Since there is a blanket speed limit of 100 km/h between 07.00 and 19.00hrs ETA's are off on our TomTom Go 5100.

Maybe Useful....
If you watch the official Tomtom Video... After various tips... 2 minutes 40 seconds into the video... Tomtom recommends a Factory reset....

The GO 5100 is a NAV4 device, there is no need to disassemble the device....
If you hold your GO 5100 Upside-down i.e.... the connections at the top and with the screen facing away from you, the SIM is under the CE sticker to the left of the Micro USB port....
With the device turned OFF...
Carefully remove the sticker... Its advisable to use Antistatic precautions when handling the SIM... You will need a pair of fine pointed tweezers to remove the SIM
If you pull-out the SIM a little way, and reinsert it, repeat this a few times, it should now remake a good connection
Note: On the GO 5100 when reinserting the SIM have the contacts facing away from the screen (Note... This may differ on other models)
I used double-sided sticky tape to replace the CE sticker
Note... The above will void your Tomtom guarantee....
All the usual disclaimers apply, all the above is at your own discretion

Hi Lampard,
This update has left a white band of thin stripes at the top of the screen on my Rider 400. Please see the picture.
Definitely update related as they appeared on startup after update.
I have tried a system re-set and the screen is still striped.
How do I do a 'clean' reinstall of the system software ?
What else do you suggest please ?

@RMRH
Have you tried a Soft/Drum roll restart on the device ??? This restarts the device's Operating System afresh
RESETTING YOUR NAVIGATION DEVICE
https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360013957499-Resetting-your-navigation-device
Charge the device for at least 2Hrs….
(Preferably using something like a Smartphone Charger using the Tomtom USB lead)
OR have the device plugged into a power supply while the device is restarting
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
You won’t lose anything; it’s just like rebooting your PC
I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles...

@RMRH Recovery mode... Usually rolls the NavKit/NavCore Back to the previous version....
Be Aware... I would not use Recovery Mode on just a whim... In my experience, anyone trying to activate Recovery Mode... Without a fully active connection Via a USB Cable & MyDrive Connect could have real problems....
Once Recovery Mode is initiated, and a connection to MDC is NOT established... Recovery Mode will continue to attempt to connect to MDC until the Server eventually times-out
Any attempts at a Restart... The device, will continue to display a Splash screen with Image of a PC and a Red Cross or a Screen displaying a Spinning disc, until Recovery mode can establish a connection to MyDrive Connect or the Server eventually times-out
Watch the Video in the link to the Tomtom FAQ.... Recovery Mode...

____________________________
Note.... The roll back will only last until the next Major Update like a NavKit/NavCore or Map update etc... This is because the NavKit Application and QuickFixGPS updates are Mandatory and force ticked by Tomtom, If you wish to install the update, you will have to update the NavKit before you can install any update like Maps etc....
