Where is the free AmiGo app heading ? Why spend time and money developing a free stripped down app when the paid Go app needs developing ? There must be a sound business reason.

Go Navigation is an app for advanced navigation. It showcases the best of TomTom technology, especially in Onboard/Offline cases. It includes advanced features like Moving Lane Guidance. If you are driving in uncharted territory, it is a great driving companion!
AmiGO, on the other hand, is more lightweight. It contains online technology but does not currently have any offline/onboard features. It is also a newer app that is evolving fast.

Maybe a small attempt not to give all data to Google Maps but to TomTom.
Maybe the traffic flow can be better observed and one or the other user reports a map change.
I like the App layout more than G-Maps.5 -
