Hope for some advise please.
I'm trying to set up my new TomTom to my A20e, but Live update services won't connect.
Now I know this is a tethering problem, but maybe someone has some advise.
I have paired the TomTom to my phone via bluetooth and can make calls etc. I have also turned on tethering on the A20e, but it doesn't show the TomTom as a tethered device.
I've tried to delete/add the phone etc, but this makes no difference.
The A20e uses Bluetooth V5.
Any suggestions?
Rick.

Have you allowed Internet acces on both places in your Phone?
Try it when the Sat nav is not in WIFI range.

Just an update.
I've now tried to tether using 3 other Android phones (All with different OS versions..) and can confirm I cannot get it to work with any of them. Pairing works and phone calls/messages work, but not live services. It's a tethering issue.
Bluetooth Tethering was turned on on all phones.
Now awaiting a response from TomTom support.

Morning all.
I've just carried out the cache clear and it's still the same:
Any other suggestions?
I have to solve this problem pretty quickly as it's affecting my job.
Cheers.

Just an update.
I have clarified that my phone supplier does support Bluetooth tethering.
My setup still doesn't connect to live services.
I think I'll have to return the TomTom.

Hi @RickBrown
Could you check the following
Tap Menu
Tap Settings
Tap System
Scroll down and Tap Your Information and privacy.
You need to have the fist option ie Use my location etc selected as On.
I see on your Phone the Bluetooth says connected for Calls. You need it to also be connected for Data as well.

Hi Doug.
I can confirm the TomTom is already set to "Use my location...".
I appreciate that the TT needs to be connected for data on the phone too, but is not for some reason.
Any ideas why ?
Cheers.

OMG Lochfrass, it was the WiFi being on!
It never crossed my mind that would have caused it!
You're a star!
Thank you.

Great that it works now.1

Great. Android update on the phone has just broken the connection!
Now having trouble getting it to work again.
Sigh.
This isn't going well.

I would recommend that you delete the Bluetooth connection on both devices and then pair again.

Blimey. This is flaky technology.
The TomTom has to be completely disconnected from anything other than bluetooth and the phone has to be completely disconnected from anything other than 4G and Bluetooth.
The TomTom also cannot be connected to the PC via USB either.0 -

Sure. For this, the MyDrive Connect program must be installed on the PC and run at least minimized.
But the operation is still done via the display of the navigation device. This is a fallback level if the WLAN is unstable or if the device has to be put into recovery mode.0
