Do you have to connect your mobile to the Premium X

    Hi @pamski

    Only if you want to have the benefit of Handsfree and Messaging. It should be noted that the messaging will not work if the phone being used is an Apple IPhone with IOS 13 and later.

    Traffic during navigation is available via the units inbuilt mobile sim provided a 2g mobile system is available. Should 2g not be available then connection to a phone or Mifi is required.

    2g is available within the UK and large parts of Europe.

    Hi DougLap, I have just bought the Go Premium 5 and could not connect to my Iphone X with IOS 13.6.1 for messages, now I know why. Do you know if TomTom are going to update the software to enable its use, its a bit annoying not being able to use latest equipment. Tom.

    Being a customer like you I have no idea what the position is but I assume the Security change made by Apple is not overcome by a change in the MyDrive App as I am sure they would have done something by now.

    Personally the lose of Messaging is not a problem but the ability to retain Handsfree is good.
