Hello. My device will not hold its charge when connected to my computer and I cannot update it.

Hello all. I have a tomtomGo6000. It works great in the car, but when I try to update it on my Mac (connected by USB), the battery will not hold enough charge. Therefore when I go to update the map, the only option I see is 'HOW TO UPDATE'. Can anyone tell me how I can update? Many thanks P

    how long does the device can stay on when you charge it for 3 or more hours
