As both of TOMTOM GO PREMIUM and TOMTOM GO PREMIUM X have a inbuilt SIM, does both of them just like Go 5200/6200 units can't receive traffic data via SIM as well?

Hi @Winston818
The inbuilt sims in all Tomtom units will not work in Australia as they a 2G. Hence in Australia Tomtom promote the Go Supreme which is the same as the Premium except no inbuilt sim and requires linking to a phone.

Hi
When you look into the Australian shop, you do not find devices with integraded sim.

If you had an Go Premium or x200 and want to use it in Australia, you can get traffic via bluetooth tethering or wifi hotspot.5 -
Hi
@Winston818
5G would be useless for the type of signal area coverage required by a TomTom SatNav device....
The 5G wavelengths have a range of about 1,000 feet (0.3 km), that's not even 2% of the 4G's signal range. So to ensure a reliable 5G signal, there needs to be a lot of 5G cell towers and antennas everywhere. We're talking one on every lamppost, traffic light, etc. because even trees can block 5G signals....

The 5G network is the trend of the world nowadays but TomTom still using the out-of-date technology.
If TomTom want to keep the markets it should use the innovation technology, as i heard many countries have closed their 2G network like Australia etc.

If i look at all the problems with the updates and the limited personalization on the devices, TomTom should focus more on app features. So you don't need to buy an expensive device and you are flexible in the use.0
