How do I close the app on my smartphone? It now remains constantly open and it seems impossible to close it.

force stop is the only way to exit the app https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1033977/why-no-exit-for-android-app-no-way-to-end

On my iPhone & iPad Click the Home button twice --> Select 'MyDrive' from the active Apps --> Swipe up to close
