It is in a reaction from a Dutch TomTom employee on a review from yesterday ("... De kaartupdate staat sowieso gepland voor 12 maart, dus daar nog even geduld mee. ...", which means 'The map update is planned anyway for March 12, so please be patient with that.' ).
I was hopping with this map update things will go to normal, but still same "sh$T" map routing, still a lot of roads without any "truck" restriction are still with "truck restrictions" and who know how many other "crappy things" will find...
Example: I depart from Reims and want to arrive in Interporto Aosta. All other GPS devices will made a route via MtBlanc...Tom tom profesional 6250 will send you via Lyon, Tunnel Frejus, Torino and then Aosta 😂😂😂
Hello,
I have been reporting that TOMTOM has been making strange paths for a long time.
Yesterday I had to go to a city, to do 20 km it made me take a hill path with very narrow and useless roads, usually it makes me do the main road, there was no traffic and no accidents. (path set to faster) there is something that doesn't work properly in my opinion.

Was there any update to that missed prediction from the Dutch language forum?
Hi @HaDeSz
Welcome to the site.... The NAV5 (Wi-Fi) devices normally update using Wi-Fi.... If Wi-Fi is not available or is slow/unstable/unreliable.....
See Option... (2) Connect over USB....
TomTom Video... Updating your navigation device using Wi-Fi®
If you have successfully connected your device to your Wi-Fi....
To check your Connection Speed, Signal Strength & Quality
On the Device... Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Settings --> Wi-Fi
Tap on the Your Wi-fi name (The one Showing as connected)
A new Menu Page opens
On the left-hand side of the screen is your Wi-Fi Connection Status
Tomtom recommend a minimum Wi-Fi download speed of 30Mbps
Tomtom NAV5 (Wi-Fi) devices will only connect to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network All the update actions are executed on the device...
___________________________
Option... (1) Connected Wi-Fi
Tap the 4Dot(.... Menu) --> Setting --> Updates & New Items
Extra Maps are Installed/Maintained... Tap the 4Dot(.... Menu) --> Setting --> Maps
I always update my devices one Update at a time
The NavCore Application and QuickFixGPS updates are force ticked by Tomtom... Deselect any other updates like Maps, Speed Cams etc... Update the mandatory item/s first, when complete update the remaining items one at a time
Note... NAV(5 Wifi) devices connected over Wifi do not require MyDrive Connect to be running Even if myDrive is running you have no access the MyDrive Connect menu structures as used by the previous NAV3 & 4 devices
____________________________
Option... (2) Connected USB
If Wi-Fi is not available or is slow/unstable/unreliable.....
Tomtom recommend a minimum Wi-Fi download speed of 30Mbps
Connecting hard-wired over USB is normally more reliable than any Over The Air Connections
Updating your new device over USB will require "MyDrive Connect"
Get it here..... https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12428
Install and Run MyDrive Connect
There's no need to login to MyDrive Connect... See Note... (1)
Connect your Device to a USB Port on your PC
The Update will hopefully complete
If your using a Laptop it would be also more advisable to use a hard-wire connection back from the Laptop to the Router....
_________________________
Note... (1) MyDrive Connect will only show a "Splash screen" saying "Connect your device using Wifi" etc....
If required you can close the 'Main Mydrive Window' showing the "Connect your device using Wifi" Splash screen... MyDrive Connect only needs to run in the background on the PC TaskBar... The NAV(5 Wifi) devices have no access the MyDrive Menu structures as used by the previous NAV3 & 4 devices
Updating a NAV5 (Wi-Fi) device using USB is the same as using Wi-Fi, all of the update actions are executed on the device...
Tap the 4Dot(.... Menu) --> Setting --> Updates & New Items
Extra Maps are Installed/Maintained... Tap the 4Dot(.... Menu) --> Setting --> Maps
Thanks @tgold
Additionally, for the Dutch speed limit change, NDS Maps will automatically adjust to speed limits depending on the time of day.
-Vikram.
While driving last night the speed limit was still 100km/h in the night on my tomtom go live 1005. Will this device also get an update to support multiple speed limits?
The GO Live 1005 is a NAV3 device and has been out of production for several years
Many of the NAV3 devices are already 'End of Life' the remainder are in Maintenance Mode i.e... Lifetime Maps are still supported, but the NavKit (Operating System) will only receive maintenance updates but not new features....
Therefore I can't see NDS Maps being made available for the NAV3 Range of Devices....

Maps v1045 are available for download for the GO Navigation apps (iOS and Android). This will includes new Dutch speed changes.
Additionally, for the Dutch speed limit change, NDS Maps will automatically adjust to speed limits depending on the time of day.
I have edited the announcement above.
-Vikram.
I just got my brand new Rider 500 with lifetime EU maps, but can't update from 1035, any ideas?
Thanks,
David

I know how to update, the issue is, on the status page, it says the license is expired, and I have to renew it..., I'll open a separate thread with screenshot (https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1122143/rider-500-eu-map-expired-on-brand-new-device/)
thanks
