Lost all my voices on Start 62

Hi tried to make room & deleted ALL my voices ,instead of all but one.
Downloaded Home (several times) but gets as far as connect device which I do but stays as 'not connected'
I have been on to dowload a free voice & that doesn't work
Please help as all I want is one English female voice!

    according to MDC I have AONGHUS ?
    SERENA & JANE installed but my Start 62 says no voice installed
    fault in 62???

    I have downloaded Serena but it has been checking for an hour.
    Is this normal?
    And being cheeky, if Serena is a bit robotic (I think I remember this)
    could you please give me Jane as I don't need addresses read out

    Hi all

    Serena is a robot voice. The download of the voices is very fast, the files are small.
    Disconnect your Start62 from the PC and do a Soft Reset of your device.
    ==> Device switch On. Press and hold the On/Off button until you hear the drum sounds. This can take 30 seconds or more. The device restarts. If you see a black screen with white text, hold down the button until you hear the drum sounds.

    Check your voices, you can do a test by pressing the voice name line in your device:
    In your Start62 ==> Main Menu (4Dots ....) / Settings / Voices / Choose a voice / touch the line of the voice

    You can download the voice "Jane" by yourself with the MyDrive Connect (MDC) software.
    Disregard the term "Not Available", this is a bug in the MDC display, all voices in all languages are showed "Not Available". Installation is possible and the voice works. I just did it with "Jane".

    in MDC ==> Tab "My Content"/ go down to "My Voices" / "Add voices to your device" / choose your voice and click on the "Install" butom

    I advise you to keep the voice "Serena" in case of concern.

    I am very sorry but I still have 'no voice installed'
    plus I got drums & black page with white printing is after it
    Kept going till I got menu

    PS downloaded Jane & it is now checking but who knows how long for!
    PPS Jane has not dowloaded either!

    Sorry for you that it still doesn't work. :disappointed:
    You don't have a problem of usable space with the internal memory of your device?
    Perhaps the voice cannot be installed because there is not enough space for it. For our devices to function properly 400 MB must always remain free.

    How much usable free space do you have in the internal memory (8GB) of your Start62?

    I did have space problem, that is how I came to delete all my voices
    Now I have 1165MB free

    It gets more complicated...

    Did you try to empty the MDC cache and do a Soft Reset of your device? Attempt to download a voice only after these two actions.

    With your device Not conected to the PC:
    Soft Reset: Device switch On. Press and hold the On/Off button until you hear the drum sounds. This can take 30 seconds or more. The device restarts. If you see a black screen with white text, hold down the button until you hear the drum sounds.

    Log in MDC with your email and password empty the cache folder:

    I get the drum & tom tom THEN the black screen & text

    If I carry on step 3 will not tick

    I don't suppose this alters anything , but I received this tom tom for christmas & it has never been in car yet

    When you hear the drum sound, you immediately release the button.
    If you see the black screen with white text, you keep pressing the button until you hear the drum sound. At the drum sound, release the button.

    There is nothing more to do for a Soft Reset. Your device does not display any particular screen. It's like a reboot on a PC. This forces the complete restart of your device's internal software (Navcore). You don't lose anything, but it often solves small problems and empty the physical RAM memory of your TomTom device.

    Have you do all your updates on your new Start62?
    If the NavCore is not updated you cannot download other items (map update/voices/etc...)

    The NaveCore must always be downloaded first and alone without any other file except the QuickGPSfix if you have it.

    Looking at the download logs it seems that are pending downloads for voices and speed cameras updates.

    It's always recommended to install one update at a time. I would advise that you keep the device connected to MyDrive Connect and let the pending downloads complete.

    How long should I wait before I worry, as I have had devise connected for days now? (not nights)
    Cant I cancel these downloads & start again?
