Go 620 wifi display time

Finally retired my older Tomtom when while it stopped keeping time I almost missed an appointment.
Bought this G0 620 and set it up yesterday to use today.
My problem is that I want the current time to always be displayed when the device is powered and there's a map showing. I find I only see the current time if I have a destination designated and a route planned.
Is this the unhappy reality and no option?

As a workaround: In the mainmenu, tap once at the top of the status guide (where the WIFI sign and cloud are shown).
Then the status menu opens and the time is visible.
It just doesn't really help because then the map is no longer visible.
Downloading updates now. Will try your suggestion when that's done.

Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Tap Anywhere on the 5 Icons screen top right
The current Time is displayed Screen Top left on the Connected devices Status Screen
Tap the blue ( > ) Icon screen top right... to return
