Problem with map

I updated my software with Tom Tom Home on my sd card.. Now I cannot use my europe maps.. (i bought them year ago)
Error is "problem with map. You cannot use this map on this device: europe-101532"

    I had my car detailed yesterday. When I got back in my car, the map screen said, "No maps detected" and something about the door reader being open. I noticed that the sd card door was open, shut it, but the maps still did not work.

    I have--several times--turned the car on and off, removed and replaced the sd card (with the car off), contacted Mazda who referred me to the dealership who then referred me to the TomTom website which tells me that I cannot update the maps because my MacBook Air runs Catalina and TomTom HOME doesn't work on Catalina?!

    Can't I just buy a new card? How can I find out if the reader has been compromised if the dealer doesn't handle that?
