RDC TMC not working in Toronto

I recently purchased a via 1525tm GPS unit. The RDC TMC traffic transmitter that came with it was not getting any signal. TomTom send me a new receiver and I'm still not getting traffic. I live in Toronto Ontario Canada and drive through traffic on the major highway everyday. So I know there is traffic but not getting any notifications of it on the traffic bar. It's just something that I need to do to set up traffic? This is very frustrating

Certainly there is supposed to be coverage for major roads in Toronto. Perhaps the chip in the device for interpreting the rds-tmc signal is faulty. Did you buy the device new? If so, call support again for warranty repairs.

Thank you for the quick reply. I did purchase the unit new off Amazon. I am getting closed roads and if there's an accident I'm just not getting any traffic updates. Is there something that I need to install or should I call tomtom and see if it's a warranty issue.
