    Thank you both for your comments. I had already installed the pois just would have been nice to have kept usual icon. Progress is more limiting it seems.

    HI @Princethorpe

    Sorry but it is not possible. You can only use the 5 Generic icons offered when you chose an POI file you want displayed on the map. One idea is to use the same coloured Icon for Poi files that are similar in nature.

    I recently obtained a Go 520. and as far as I am concerned, the lack of personal POI icons is an absolute show stopper!
    I use a large set of POIs (around 30 sets with a total of about 2500 POIs) to mark low bridges with their individual group icons showing the height to facilitate route planning for oversize vehicles. The new arrangement is useless to me. This Go 520 is no use to me. Why would Tomtom remove this facility? It just does not make sense!
    I will continue to use my old Go 2050 unit until it completely dies, but will NEVER buy another Tomtom.

    Hi
    @Brissieboy

    If you are driving a Truck why use a Car Satnav when there's a Truck Range is available....
    See... https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/sat-nav/truck-sat-nav/products/index.html

    The route planning is primarily for the escort vehicle, not the truck, bit I do use it in either.
    Also the map details for heavy vehicles are nowhere near good enough to avoid going in the wrong places - not a TomTom issue but a mapping issue.
    These POIs I use have been gathered over quite a long period of time and lots of miles and are much more accurate than the maps. Without being able to identify the POI group via the icon on the map renders all these as virtually useless.
    AND FOR NO GOOD REASON THAT I CAN THINK OF!!!
