TomTom HOME will not start because "critical update" is failing

I have previously used TomTom HOME to update my Mazda NB1 navigation system. I recently paid for map updates and have been told there's an update available. However when I open TomTom HOME on my Mac (10.14.6) I get a popup saying there's a "New critical update available" and that I have to wait for that to be installed:

However the update quickly shows this error error message:

The "critical update" window will not close and I can not even quit the app. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app via this link but I get the same issue. It looks like that page installs version 2.11.7.575 but the "critical update" it is trying to download is 2.11.8.700, but the download link in the popup above does not work.
Is there a direct link to the latest 2.11.8.700 version or some other way around this error?

Same here, I hope that this critical update is about 64 bit version of app. Mac OS Catalina is coming1
