***NOTE: I couldn't seem to find an exact forum category for Go COMFORT devices.
I recently got a TomTom GO COMFORT. Is there a way to backup on my computer My Places? I'm concerned that in the future I may have to reset or reformat my device and I will then lose all the My Places I've already created on the device.
My previous TomTom XXL had a Detour feature but I couldn't find it on the GO COMFORT. Is there such a feature?
Also, MyDrive Connect when connected to my GO COMFORT via USB doesn't seem to give me options to do anything from my computer. Is that correct?

Hi @blueocean
If you have created any My Places already then if you go t the My Drive webpage and log into your account you should see them listed there..
https://mydrive.tomtom.com/
Every time you add or delete My Places you create on the GO Comfort when the unit is connected to Wifi and has logged into your account, details of which you entered when setting it up, then the Data is updated in My Drive and is your backup. You also can use the My Drive webpage to add POI files and route files which will also sync to your device. Routes created ion the device will not sync back to My Drive.
In the event that you should ever have to do a factory reset on the device when it connects to the Wifi and then to your account on the TT servers it will download the Myplaces. Poi and route files from the servers to your device.
Regarding Detours when you have created a route on the device if you Tap menu. tap Current Route there are a number of avoid options available Avoid Blocked Road, and Find Alternatives that you can use.
The GO Comfort is designed to be fully independent of a PC so that you can do all the normal functions directly through its connection to Wifi. When you connect the device via USB you get a Splash screen saying do it via Wifi. When you connect the device via USB it is only using the PC as a means to connect to the internet. For example some people do not have Wifi in their homes due to Health reasons so all their PC equipment has wired connections to their router . In that case they would connect the device to a PC in order that it may have internet access and then use the menu options on the GO Comfort to carry out the actions they wish to make such as Updating the device. Tomtom do suggest that if you Wifi is less than 30mbps then use the PC connection method but use the Device menu's to complete the task.
There does not seem to be a GO Comfort manual at the moment but if you click on the following it is the manual for the European equivalent
