I have downloaded tomtom home to my laptop, now trying to update my tomtom xl satnav. I now have the 'getting updates automatically, on my screen, this has now been running ? for approx 20 hours, and this is at a download speed of 35 mbps, no joy so far, other than asking if I want to replace my device.

I may be the bringer of bad news....
Many of the XL Models tomtom have declared to be end of life
Check the first two characters of your serial number... See if your device has been declared Eol... Do you think your XL has Lifetime Maps ???
