GO 510 Internal search error
But today when I do a postcode search it says Internal search error.
I have done a "drum roll reset" but made no difference.

Sorry for the late reply.
Did you get this sorted already? I would suggest you do a soft reset on the device and then try again.

Vikram
No I still haven't managed to fix it.
I did the "drum roll reset" but I will try the "soft reset" which you linked to and update you.

Antony
OK, I followed the link, but the instructions say to use a straightened paperclip to push the reset button on the bottom of the device. My Go 510 doesn't seem to have a reset button.
Any other ideas?

Antony
The drum roll and the soft reset is the same.
Could you try a factory reset- Main Menu- Settings- System- Reset ?
Then try again?

I have just done a factory reset.
Still the same error when searching.

Antony
Could you try the recovery mode as shown in the video above.

Vikram
Thank you. The recovery mode has finally fixed the problem.
Although it took about 5 hours to go through it all! :-)
Thanks,

13 months later and the same error happened again!
I followed the steps for recovery mode again.
But this time it gets into a continuous loop:
The "white wheel" spins, I connect it to my computer.
MyDrive goes through the "Restoring your device" screen and goes up to 100%.
The TomTom restarts with the "TomTom and globe" screen and the progress bar gets about halfway across, then it restarts.
The "white wheel" spins, I connect it to my computer.
and so on, over and over again!
Hi Vikram,
It doesn't work on my TomTom Go 510. In the video I get as far as 2:09 (the device restarts) but then instead of showing the maps, it goes back to 1:18 (the spinning wheel) and repeats the process. Over and over. Forever!

Thank you. that solved that issue.
Now MyDrive Connect does not show the SD card as being present, even though the TomTom does and has happily formatted it.
