MyDrive Connect still not working with Windows 10

I have had my Start 20 for nearly a year now, and every time I try to do updates, MyDrive Connect refuses to recognise my device. The problem is, in spite of TomTom denying it, that MyDrive Connect WILL NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS 10. Why ? I`ve tried all the methods they recommend to fix it, and still no luck. Get your heads out of the sand TomTom and fix this problem. You are losing sales because of this, and as this is my third device, I will not be buying TomTom again. I had no problem with Windows 7 and XP, and I even had to take an old XP machine out of retirement to do the updates once, but as you know, XP is no longer safe online. Fix this problem.

MDC does work with Windows 10. That is my setup.

Works on Windows 10 for me as well.

You have had your Start 20 since at least October 2017 and what PC are you using and are your Windows software and My Drive Software up to date as some Windows settings that can cause problems for MyDrive connect and once sorted then the software works fine.

Thanks for your replies. My computer is a three year old Lenovo laptop, The MyDrive Connect is up to date, as I reinstalled it and my version of Windows 10 is 1809. The device is showing as connected to the computer in device manager, but the MyDrive Connect page keeps telling me to connect the device, even though it is. I`ve tried all the options mentioned, and still nothing works.
The computer I used to actually download the updates is an 11 year old HP Compaq, running Windows XP Professional. Why do I have to use an old machine to do the downloads. Nothing I do will make the MyDrive Connect work on the newer machine.

    HI @BusterK

Maybe @LAURE123 or @YamFazMan can help you with the some infromation about the possibility that your PC has not got the drivers for the TT unit and that maybe why it is not being seen in My Drive Connect.

    Just a thought.

    Hi all

    @BusterK

    To complete @YamFazMan message.

MyDrive Connect works as well under W10 as W8.1 or W7SP1. The configuration of the PC can sometimes create some worries.

Look at this topic and try, the error message is maybe different but the procedure remains the same:

Thanks all for your help, but none of the suggestions worked. However, I have solved the problem, courtesy of Amazon Prime day. I have bought a Garmin Drive 61. My TomTom device was good, as were the two older models I`ve had (One and One Third Edition), but I just can`t stand the hassle of doing the updates through MyDrive Connect on Windows 10 with the Start20.

Last Monday while updating my device, 6100, tomtom had a server outage. It corrupted the device. 7 different tech support calls later, I still couldn't update the maps esp Europe without mydrive connect reporting servers busy! I also noticed that I'd lost Internet connection with tomtom. Internet at home was perfect! Tomtom tech support staff tried and failed to resolve this issue on my Windows 10 laptop. I'd never had this issue before! In desperation, I borrowed a macbook air, downloaded mydrive connect and hey presto, I downloaded all updates! I think Windows 10 has had a recent software update that has made my laptop incompatible with mydrive connect? Tomtom have been asked to look into this but as yet, I've had no response. I'm just going to forget Windows for now and use the Macbook Air.

    Hi
    @BusterK

MyDrive Connect & Win10 64bit is working fine here....
On the rare occasions that I have problems with MyDrive connect

Note... I tend to go straight to Option... (2)
    Option... (1)
Did you Clear the MyDrive Connect Cache ???
The MDC Cache is deleted Manually, the cache does not Auto delete... At 9.13GB for the Full Europe Map... Each download soon mounts up

    With MyDrive Connect running...
Click on the Cog Wheel Icon Screen top right
    Click on the Downloads Tab
    Empty download folder
    Save settings

Also if you don't clear the MyDrive Cache ??? You will only re-install any corrupt Map in the Cache again, instead if a Freshly Downloaded & Installed Map

    Or

    Option... (2)
I delete the "HOME3" and the "MyDrive Connect" folders in MyDrive Connect Program...

Using the latest MyDrive Connect on the NAV4 Devices like your Tomtom device you can Stop the Download to MyDrive Connect you can't Stop or Clear an Update Queue

But you can Delete the Home3 and the MyDrive Connect folders in the MyDrive Connect Program and force a reload of the Cache Data

If you have installed MyDrive Connect to the default location using Windows 10
    It's located here... C:\Users\"Your Computers Name goes here"\AppData\Local\TomTom > (HOME3 & MyDrive Connect Folders)
Delete both the Home3 and the MyDrive Connect folders; they are most likely to be corrupted
If you delete the Home3 and the MyDrive Connect folders it removes the Cache Folder & Contents, Prefs.ini, cookies.ini. Logs and Configuration.xml

A new Home3 Folder and MyDrive Connect folders and their contents are created fresh the next time you use MyDrive Connect
    ___________________________

    Method…..
(1)... Disconnecting the Tomtom device from the PC and Reset it by holding down the off button for 20 secs until you hear the ‘drumbeat’ release the button
(2)... Opening ‘Run’ on the PC (click on the windows symbol bottom left – type ‘run’ in the search box – open ‘run’.
(3)... Type into the ‘run’ box %localappdata%/TomTom
    (4)… Press Enter
    (5)... A new window opens
(6)... Delete both the Home3 and the MyDrive Connect folders; they are most likely to be corrupted
    (7)…Close all windows
(8)... Turn on the SatNav and reconnect it to the PC
(9)... Open/Run ‘My Drive Connect... You will have to login as if MyDrive Connect was a fresh install... And hopefully all should be well
    _____________________________

Option... (3) Delete & Reinstall MyDrive Connect
If you're using a Windows PC... Delete MyDrive Connect using the free version of Revo Uninstaller
If you're using a Mac... Surely there must be a Deep Clean Un-installer Program available for a Mac ???
Download & install the free version of Revo Uninstaller
    Here...https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Revo first uninstalls the Program... Then scans and removes all of the left over files a normal uninstall leaves behind

(1)... Uninstall MyDrive Connect Using the Revo Uninstaller
(2)... Clear your browsers cache (Optional, but I find it really does help)
(3)... Restart your PC (Not Turn Off & Turn On again)
    Download and install myDrive Connect
    Here... https://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/mydrive-connect/
DO NOT have your Tomtom device connected to your PC while installing MyDrive Connect
Connect & Turn on your device... Login to MyDrive Connect
Note... If there is more than one Update, I find it's best to do the updates one at a time
