Can TomTom please update how place names and roads are pronounced?

Taunton is not pronounced Tow-Ton, it's Tawn-Ton.
The Road Names or Numbers are disjointed and sound weird to my ears.

    Couldn't agree more!!

Some of the pronunciations are simply not recognisable!

And on the Premium X it still pronounces Reading (town in Southern England) as what you do with a book, not 'Redding' as it should be.
It did the same on my GO6200WiFi.
    This sounds very silly.

Whilst it is clearly not an ideal situation I think you will have to accept that the only solution would be to record every place name in order to resolve the problem which is widespread.

Locally we have places which are frequently miss pronounced by visitors.

Meopham is often pronounce Meofam whereas locally it is pronounced Mehpam. Broadditch Pond is locally known as Braditch Pond.

Do you pronounce Wrotham as Rootam or Rotham

    Hi There!

The way your TomTom pronounces place and road names is by means of a TTS (Text to Speech) engine. This software is provided by a third-party to TomTom (Nuance).

While pronounciation could be further improved, I don't think it hampers you in any shape or form, to reach your desired destination.

    Good luck!
