How to set up speech recognition in TomTom Basic Go ?

According to the manual of the TomTom Basic Go it would be possible to give your device instructions by speech. I follow the instructions according to the manual but nothing happens. No reaction on the screen of the device. Is it possible to give instructions by speech for the TomTom Basic Go? If so, how do I set this up?
The manual is not helping. Thank you very much for your help

    Make sure the voice you have selected is a computer voice.
