My trusty old backup Pro 5150 has a problem, its first ever. Connected it for update as usual and was greeted by the spinning cog. My Drive Connect says 'Restoring your device', but in 24 hours of saying this nothing has happened. I usually use Win 7 laptop and have done for years without issue. I've tried on a Win 10 laptop, same result. Tried on a new Win 10 laptop with the same result. All I have is my device with the Red Cross, which looks like it is going through the motions but nothing appears to be happening. My Drive Connect says restoring but does not show progress. Any ideas?
I have just noticed that I have no 'Manage Community Content' option on My Drive Connect. Not sure if this is significant.

I have same issue, i tried two version of Mydrive version 4.2.5.3734 and 3754 on both I have no 'Manage Community Content' option on My Drive Connect.
It all happend straid after updating.
5 hours "restoring your device" with no progres.

Download & install the free version of Revo Uninstaller

Revo first uninstalls the Program... Then scans and removes all of the left over files a normal uninstall leaves behind
(1)... Uninstall MyDrive Connect Using the Revo Uninstaller
(2)... Clear your browsers cache (Optional, but I find it helps)
(3)... Restart your PC (Not Turn Off & Turn On again)
Reinstall MyDrive Connnect (Without your device connected)
Connect & Turn on your device... Login to MyDrive Connect
A fresh install of MyDrive might clear the logjam

i di updates same way all the time, it looks like tomtom plans all this, if you not buing subscription and using only lifetime map update, you will be force to buy new device any way !!!

Yesterday... I updated my NAV3 Go 120 Live... Speed Cameras, QuickFixGPX & Mapshare
Also my NAV3 GO 825 Live... Full Europe Map (Lifetime), SpeedCams QuickFixGPX & MapShare All OK

So how to explain that, when my subscription ended and not buing new one just after map update (pc connected) speed cameras worning sound as well as icon displayed on screen appears just before the real camera or when i been passing the camera or even after i passed it.
on the other thred with the issue- no 'Manage Community Content' other member contacted customer service in late 2018 and the answer was...
"Dear Mr xxxxxxxx,
This is Sally again from TomTom Customer Support. Thank you for your response.
We are really sorry but unfortunately we have stopped the repair for this device."

To turn it on i need to hold on/off button to turn it on but less then 30s.
after "tomtom" on the side of the screen and drums sound i get the screens as follow

on MyDrive "restoring your device" never show even 1% !!!
on task bar when go on mydrive icon with the pointner i get a popup message "busy repairing your device"
when right click
open mydrive content
settings
quit
NO " Manage comm..."
when i am cliking on the link you supply:
when device connected i get this straight away Error 404: Not Found
when disconnected after while i am getting - The connection has timed out
The server at 169.254.255.1 is taking too long to respond.

Firstly try Win10 Troubleshoot to fix a USB port error
With MyDrive Connect running, your device plugged in and turned on
Press the 'Windows button' + R to open the run command window
Type "Control Panel" in the Window... Click OK
The Control panel opens
Click on the Devices and Printers Icon
The 'Devices and Printers' window opens
(1)... Right Click on the Tomtom Icon and select “Troubleshoot”
Or
(2)...Right Click on the Remote NDIS Compatible Device Icon and select “Troubleshoot”
Follow the on-screen instructions

What AntiVirus are you using ???
Is your AntiVirus and or its Firewall blocking MyDrive Connect from connecting to the Tomtom servers
Is the Windows Firewall blocking MyDrive Connect from connecting to the Tomtom servers
Is your USB cable an original Tomtom Cable ??? is it OK

i never mess up with windows firewall, usb cable is genuine,
well... like i said i did all the updates to device, not only dowload maps on pc, so ... ?
so like i said, device will end its life even if you care it and putting to the nice comfy box every day you finish your work, no matter how do you look after it there is someone in the tomtom company who will kill it for you, i don;t see any other explenation !
its time to say goodbay to this company
if you are fro uk i can send it for you and you can have it for a practice, for future, i am serious.
