GO 50 S will only display tom-tom logo

The device will not actually turn on and will only display the tom-tom logo on the black screen. I have tried to reset it by holding the power button down for long periods like 5 minutes and nothing ever happens except the logo disappears then reappears over and over.The device has only been used 1 or 2 times since it was purchased. It will not connect to mydrive connect or my computer either.
