Hi @Pipes56
I am quessing that you have 2+ maps minimum and they are on your Extra memory and they are there because neither will fit individually on the internal memory. If you were to take the SD card out the unit would not boot up properly as it needs a map somewhere on the unit.
I would suggest that you contact Customer support and ask them to add a small map to your account to help you sort out a problem you have because your maps on the SD cannot be updated. . For example Venezuela is very small and you would then leave that map permanently on your unit as its presence will help you sort out problems you could have if your SD card failed or you had a problem when you are updating.
If they add it to your account then you download that and because you have plenty of space for it on the internal memory it will load there. You leave it there so whatever happens you have a map on the internal memory.
Now you can take out the SD card you have the maps on and replace it with a 32Gb card which is the maximum size the unit will work with. Now when you open MyDrive Connect it will show the 3 or more maps that at associated with your account. You can now install those maps, excluding Venezuela, to the new SD card which should solve your problem and leave space for more maps if you want them. Try to avoid getting down to such a small amount of spare space on the extra memory and have at least 400mb free on the internal memory

Hi @Pipes56
Is this replacing a Memory card you had in it before and if so what was on the card. Have you got a map on the internal memory.
Is the SD card a new one with nothing on it. Did the Tomtom unit Format the card when you inserted the new Card.
If not
Tap Menu
Tap Settings
Tap System
Tap Format Memory Card
When you then attach your GO5000 to your PC and Open MYDrive Connect can you see the Internal and External Memory information.

Hi Doug
I had 91MB left on the memory card and 6529 free on my device.i copied all the files from the old card to my laptop incase off loss and formatted the new cars on the laptop.
The device did not rcognise the new card so I tried formatting the new card on the device, this the response Cannot format memory card card is already formatted and ready to use.
My content on My Drive shows the same amount of memory as the old card..
Any suggestions welcome.
