Which Sat Nav suits me?

Hi there, I am looking to update my Sat Nav, I mainly only use it for UK driving, could you tell me how long these new devices last for? When purchased one how long before it will become obsolete and not covered by the free map updates etc, please?
I am 67 years of age, my eye-sight is good but like the wide screen Sat Nav's!

The Tomtom units that have become obsolete have largely come to an end because the internal memory is to small for the operating software and maps. The original units had 2mb of internal memory and no ability to add extra memory.
Th very latest have 16gb of internal memory and thus have plenty of memory for the software and say the Full European map with buildings which is about 8gb.itself. The units also have the ability to add up to 32gb of additional memory.
So subject to no unforeseen circumstances the answer is that current units should all be able to cope with what they need for a long time.

Final question, would I be able to copy over a voice I love to use on my old Sat Nav, = Black Country Bob I think it's called! It's a great voice, especially when driving a long distance!

Some voices are transferable to the new voices like Yoda. If you can look on your unit and see what the voice name is then it could be checked. Probably in settings somewhere.
