Rider 400 does not connect to BT on newer LG mobile devices

Any reason why the BT stack for the rider 400 is not compatible with the latest BT stack on the newer mobile devices .. the new BT is supposed to be backward compatible .. but for some reason, the Rider 400 does not connect .. I tried 3 devices .. no luck

    Make sure bluetooth tethering is on. It turns off automatically every time you restart your Android device.

    is this with the mydrive app in the background ??
    or force closed only using the phone bluetooth tether ??

    Yes I have tried it with BT tethering on and the MyDrive App is running on the device. I seem to remember there was a setting on these phones that need to be turned off .. I just cant remember what it was.
