Updating tomtom5000 device not connected

I have previously connected my tomtom5000 to mydrive account. It shows on the screen linked to the account and I can see 5 updates including the European map. I connect my device to the computer and get the message device not connected. have tried turning off and on and soft boot still the same. Please can anyone help
