MyDrive Connect issues ("Waiting for device" message; not updating)

Hi everybody!

A couple of days ago I tried to update my GO5100, as I regularly do from time to time but for some reason, despite the device stating that it is connected to the computer, MyDrive Connect software gets stuck on "waiting for device" on "updating the device" screen.

I have being trying to update since then but the software keeps saying the same message.
Yes, I have done a unplug/plug cable, a turn off/on device and a soft reset also;
No, I haven't done a hard reset (neither I want to risk it at this point).
Minimal TCP traffic (mostly pings to keep alive, I guess), 1-3% CPU load and
