Hi all,

Sorry for announcing this late..

We've have released the new v10.11 maps that will include the changes of the French speed limits.

In France the speed limits on two-lane roads will be lowered from 90km/h (50mph) to 80km/h. It will affect around 460.000 km of roads (major & secondary).

This change was announced in January 2018 by the French Prime Minister and the official implementation date will be the 1st of July 2018. It is a two-year trial and the reform will be reviewed by July 1st 2020.

Only download this update if you are going to be in France in the next couple of months, as the details it contains will be in the next regular update, v10.15, at the end of August

So this map accounts for the Europe map on my G5100.

Is this new map ONLY corrected with new speed limits in France?
U are sure there are no other changes in other european countries that might make it worth downloading prior to the v10.15?
I`ve got a 3 week roadtrip in southern Spain and Portugal planned from August 4th so changes down there could come in handy....

    Cheers

    A minor niggle!!

While driving today I noticed that though the long sections of what were 90 KpH have been reduced to 80, but on entering a roundabout the little short mapping sections for each leg still showed a limit of 90 :( So I hope by v10.15 these will be corrected ?

I thought speed limits were one of the (few) things which can be updated via Map Share updates. Maybe little irregularities could be done that way practically? I suppose it would have been too much to do the entire country with a Map Share update.

There is an error in your posting. It says:

In France the speed limits on two-lane roads will be lowered to 90km/h (50mph) from 80km/h.

Surely you meant to write (my changes are in bold italics):

In France the speed limits on two-lane roads will be lowered from 90km/h (50mph) to 80km/h.

    except 90kph is 55mph and 80kph is 50mph!

Should say: In France the speed limits on two-lane roads will be lowered to 80km/h (50mph) from 90km/h.

My GO 520 WiFi just downloaded the Europe v10.11 map, although I noticed a glitch: the system info screen says it was released in 05/2018, while it should say 06/2018

The release date on the maps seems to indicate the date the map data was frozen. After that date the data is converted into the various formats needed for each device/application. These "release" dates are always 1 to 2 months behind the date the map is made available to us for installation.

In other words, if a map change was approved in June you can be 100% sure it's not on the map which came out in July. It's the "release date" in system info you need to look at, not the date the maps is released to the public.

As I require this update before the end of August would it be possible to confirm that 'Europe' v1011.9002 (Released 05/2018) is the update v10.11 on a 6200 that includes the changes to the French speed limits.
    Many thanks.

    @lewisadam

Yes, that update contains the changes in French speed limits.

Make sure you also update the speed camera/danger zones as the cameras have been updated even if the signage has not, so even if the sign at the side of the single track road says 90 the camera has been changed to 80.

    Drive safely :)

Do you have an ETA for the August update ?
  • CJOCJO Posts: 15 [Outstanding Explorer]
Further question, as a large number of areas in London now have 20 MPH speed limits on most side roads, when are these going to be corrected in the maps
  • YurkoYurko Posts: 35 [Master Traveler]
you have a speed error in the Czech Republic for autobuses shows allowed on the highway 130 km/h ))) please correct.
And mistakes for buses in all cities of Poland: should always be 50 km / h and no more! Road sign increasing limit not applicable to buses on roads designated as city road!

Sorry, but I couldn't resist quoting you!!

Anyway, given how late the May'18 update was, I don't think I'll be holding my breath!!

Oh alright, but what's another couple of days anyway

My original logic was that they had all 273 NAV2 maps on their server by Sunday so I (wrongly) assumed that they'd also loaded all the NAV3/4's too so they could officially release them all but apparently not
