BLUE&ME TOMTOM 2 LIVE not charging in car mount

After four years of faultless operation, my Blue&Me TomTom 2 Live has stopped charging when in my Fiat 500 integrated dashboard mount. Last night as I approached the critical part of my journey it suddenly displayed an error message saying it had run out of charge and the screen went blank - the battery was completely drained.

I am able to re-charge the unit (recently up to 85% charge) by plugging into my laptop or a separate DC charge pack.

Have any other users had this problem and are there any suggested solutions please?

My serial number begins TG (strangely not listed on the drop down menu)

    Can't help specifically, sorry.
We had a Fiat 500 with the TomTom plug-in unit and still have it even though we no longer have the Fiat500.

I'm a long-standing member of the Fiat Owners Club forum, and I suggest you join and ask them. Seems to me that your issue is with the wiring in the car rather than your TomTom.

    Good luck,

I have the same problem and many others.
My Tomtom powers up, but I must manually power it down!
    It rebuild the song library.
The custon power on (Abarth) logo returns to default one (Fiat)
    after 4-5 ignitions!!!
Power off remains the custom Abarth logo (it is the same file but
    with different name)
Tomtom guy said they are aware of the problem but don't have
    a solution!!!!!!!
