You need to have a newer watch (no Runners or MultiSports), be on a later firmware and you have to sync your watch with a compatible phone and keep phone sync on. Even then, all you will get for notifications are those from the native phone and text apps, not third-party apps (like Facebook messenger or What's App). And all you get is single notification alert on a single screen, you cannot scroll through to recall missed ones or interact with it in any way. It essentially just telling you to look at your phone.

I think Adventurer is the last watch from TT, so is the newest
I think I was pretty clear than when I said newer, I meant anything later than an original Runner or MultiSport, so I am not sure what purpose your comment serves.
