No maps found- Start 20

I inherited a Start 20 from a deceased relative about a year ago and it has been working perfectly until yesterday, when a graphic on the screen seemed to indicate that I needed to plug into a computer. To cut to the chase, the only way I could make any headway to making it function again was to register in my name and begin the whole 'getting started' process. This seemed to be successful and I have my user interface and account details in 'MyDrive Connect'. Unfortunately, I cannot get beyond a screen saying 'No Maps Found'. I have followed the precise instructions on how to remedy this, including emptying my download folder and rebooting everything, but my account still stubbornly claims that my device is up-to-date and will not offer me the chance to re-download the maps, whilst my device is still stuck in the 'No Maps Found' screen...?
