Mazda Navigation System NB1-Setting route preferences
My tom tom device insists on taking me up unsealed roads to get to destination.
I assume this is because it calculates this is the shortest way.
I don't wish to travel on unsealed roads but cannot see where I can set this preference on my device.
Can anyone help with this setting?

My Navman had this option and so expected the Tom Tome would also.

I have a Start 25 that is very different from your Mazda Navigation System NB1 but the menu settings look very similar.
In the manual, it should be pages 46 and 47.
- In your system ==> Settings / Planning Settings / Unpaved Road
- and define how you want your system to process them ==> always ask / always avoid / never avoid ==> validate
Regards.
Unfortunately after selecting the 'always avoid unpaved roads' the route identified to be taken directs me to use a now known 'unpaved' road.
I understand I can select to avoid certain roads, or chose other routes, but I am trying to set up the GPS so avoid unpaved roads that I am not aware of.
I now wonder whether the term 'unpaved' used by Tom Tom has the same meaning as the term locally used of 'unsealed' road.
Unsealed here in Australia means a 'gravel' road. i.e. a road that has no bitumen seal applied.
