New phone, who dis?

I recently replaced my phone. I tried pairing my multisport watch to the new phone (galaxy 9+, in case that matters) and the watch is telling me I need to go to "manage" in the app and disconnect it from my last phone. There isn't anywhere in "manage" to do that, at least that I can find. I've already sent the old phone back as part of my trade in deal. How do I disconnect my watch from the last phone so I can pair it with the new one?

    You may need to factory reset the watch and reinstall the app to clear out the pairing codes. The steps are: uninstall the app, remove or forget the watch from the phone's BT menu, factory reset the watch, reinstall the app, select Pair New on the app, select Pair New on watch (press down from the clock and select Phone>Pair New, not Sync) and follow the prompts on the phone. You should not be pairing the watch first through the phone's BT menu; it is all done through the app.
