Downloading Updates Freezing using MyDrive Connect

I have a new tomtom that I need to update but now that I'm connected, every time I attempt to download the updated material, it appears to be dysfunctional in some way. For example; I had the download at 40% then when I went back to check on the progress, it was at 21%. why is it consistently doing this? not to mention that the downloads are incredibly slow!!

    Do you by chance have an antivirus affecting proper transmission?

    I just disabled my antivirus program so now I wait.
